Trade Documentation
The Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce (EBCC) promotes trade with Egypt via certification and legalisation of commercial and legal documents for British Chambers on behalf of UK exporters to Egypt.
Why certify and legalise your trade documents
Certifying and legalising your documents will satisfy your buyers that the products exported are wholly obtained, produced and/or manufactured in the UK. This verification helps determine the applicable customs tariff. Most importantly, by certifying and legalising your documents, you will give your product instant credibility. Certified & legalised documents protect your product in case of legal disputes and you are in a strong position should the case go into arbitration or litigation.
How to certify and legalise your trade documents
In order to certify & legalise your trade documents, you will need to deliver the documents to your local British Chamber of Commerce. Your local Chamber will send them to the EBCC via courier where they are certified. The documents will be checked and hand-delivered to the Egyptian Consulate in London to be legalised. Once this is completed, the documents are sent back by hand to the EBCC where they are checked and returned to your local Chamber of Commerce. The EBCC processes all documents within 24 hours and the entire process takes between 3 and 4 business days.
