Legalisation

Legalisation

The Chamber offers legalisation services on both trade and personal documents with the FCDO and the Egyptian Consulate.

For Personal documents:

An Apostille from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) is required to legalise documents prior to the Egyptian Consulate.

Examples of these documents are Power of Attorney, Birth Certificates, Marriage Certificates, Criminal Records / Police Clearance, Death Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Divorce Certificate etc.

We offer a two-day turnaround service for all FCDO apostilles.

Contact us on info@theebcc.com and we will happily talk you through the process and document requirements.

For Educational documents

The certificates need to be verified by your issuing body by filing our consent forms first. They are then submitted to the Egyptian Cultural Office where they are picked up and then taken to the Egyptian Consulate for legalisation.

Examples of these documents are University Degrees, A Levels, GCSE's, MBA's etc.

Depending on the time it takes for the awarding body to verify the document it generally takes 7-10 days to complete.

For Business documents:

Business documents issued in the UK to be used in Egypt need to be apostilled by the FCDO and then must be legalised by The General Consulate of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the UK. Some also require notary/solicitor certification.

Examples of these documents are Business Contracts, Power of Attorney, accounts etc.

We offer a two-day turnaround service for all FCDO apostilles.

The documents should then be certified by the Egyptian Chamber followed by the Egyptian Consulate.

Please note that the Egyptian consulate requires documents to be stamped by the Egyptian Chamber and the FCDO.
